Reports of a school shooter placed Hawkins Middle School and its neighboring North Mason Middle School on lock down Wednesday morning. The North Mason School District reported about 12:40 p.m. that no shots were fired and police found no signs of a shooter.

North Mason School District superintendent Dana Rosenbach said the sheriff's department was at Hawkins Middle School investigating.

[12:45 p.m.] There is still a huge police presence at Hawkins Middle School. "We are clearing all buildings", they said on Twitter.

Officers from multiple agencies are at the school. KIRO 7 News' Kevin McCarty is talking with law enforcement to learn exactly what this means.

The sheriff's office took the student, a boy, into custody and he is no longer on campus, she said.
