Nintendo Switch Blows Past Its Sales Goals

Nintendo Switch Blows Past Its Sales Goals”

Keeping their word that the Switch's launch wouldn't mean the end of their older handhelds, Nintendo unveiled the New 2DS XL last night, and it sure is pretty.

Nintendo has been on somewhat of a run recently, with the Nintendo Switch proving incredibly popular and launch title Zelda: Breath of the Wild smashing records. At that price, it's more affordable than the $200 3DS XL and will make sense for players who want to get into the Nintendo universe on the cheap. The Switch released two months ago and still suffers stock shortages, and now we're seeing a new handheld from Nintendo. Why?

While everyone talks about the early greatness of the Nintendo Switch, we need to remember that it's got one solid, unbelievable title ready to go at launch; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

In a move that was a bit unexpected, Nintendo has announced a new handheld that will launch this summer: the New 2DS XL.

The latest evidence: the 3DS family is growing again. Over its lifetime the Nintendo 3DS line has sold more than 66 million units, including 7 million previous year.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Users will be able to play all games from the massive library of 3DS, New 3DS and DS games in 2D, including classic titles such Mari Kart, Super Smash Bros. and Legend of Zelda. As part of its financial results today, Nintendo announced that Nintendo Switch has sold 2.74 million units worldwide (as of today).

It comes as Nintendo's sales climb back up with the success of its Switch console.

The Kyoto, Japan-based company reported the numbers in its earnings report for the fiscal year ended March 2017.

Along with the unveiling of its new device, the company also revealed its January-March loss was 394 million yen ($3.5 million), improved from a 24 billion yen loss a year earlier. Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima stated that he expects the company to pull in $6.7 billion in revenue and $404 million in net profit, with this profit being affected by the company ramping up its marketing budget for the Switch.

City and Guardiola have failed to meet expectations
United stay in fifth place, and they are still one point behind City, and two points behind third-placed Liverpool. We have to be aware of that but I think City are going to be much stronger next season as well.
