Uncertainty prevails over India's participation in CT

Uncertainty prevails over India's participation in CT”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in their Special General Meeting (SGM) on Sunday, May 7, chose to send the India cricket team for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2017, which starts from June 1 at the Oval, London.

The BCCI had already delayed naming the India squad for the Champions Trophy, and there was talk of revoking the Members Participating Agreement (MPA), which governs participation in ICC events, as part of the fallout of the ICC meetings. "There has been more than enough negativity surrounding Team India's participation in the ICC Champions Trophy and the sooner the same is put to rest the better" it added. Meanwhile, the selection committee of the BCCI is all set to meet in Delhi on Monday.

But a senior BCCI official present at the meeting made it clear that the SC had never barred him from attending the meet.

This was like a cup final - Cahill understands magnitude of Everton win
We must look step by step."Cahill's eighth goal of the season and Willian's beautifully worked third inflicted only Everton's second home defeat of the season".

Even though Srinivasan was earlier keen on a pullout, he refrained from speaking about it after gauging the general mood.

The COA - comprising Rai, IDFC managing director Vikram Limaye, and former Indian women's cricket captain Diana Edulji - was appointed by the Supreme Court after the Board refused to implement Lodha Committee recommendations.

The CoA had told the BCCI on May 2 that it could sent its notice to the ICC only if all 30 state associations voted "unanimously" to do this at the SGM. Holders #India did not submit its squad for the one-day global tournament in England and Wales by the April 25 deadline after BCCI failed to halt a new revenue model to be accepted by the worldwide Cricket Council (ICC). The Associate Members will receive a funding of 280 million dollars.

The point 13 of the letter stated COA would support any decision "which protects the interests of Indian cricket as a whole".
