Authorities say escaped Georgia inmates caught in Tennessee

The sheriff of Putnam County, Georgia, admitted that a pair of inmates who escaped custody after they were accused of killing two correctional officers earlier this week had a 13-hour head start on authorities after they allegedly stole a white pickup truck and switched vehicles before authorities realized it.

Authorities are now conducting a nationwide search for Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe.

The prisoners breached a protective gate on the bus to reach the officers at the front of the bus, before disarming and killing them both, the sheriff's office said.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said the inmates fled from the bus near Eatonton, about 70 miles southeast of Atlanta. "Our focus right now is to apprehend these two risky criminals".

The escapees are wanted for the prison bus murders of two corrections officers: Sgt. Chris Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue.

The two inmates then fled in the stolen Honda Civic and drove about 25 miles (40 kilometers) north to Madison, where they ransacked a home, stealing food and clothes and leaving their prison uniforms behind around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

In the fourth, now facing John Gant , he hit another 3-2 fastball, a line drive to center also estimated at 424 feet. His performance at Great American Ball Park accounts for 9.5 per cent of his career home run production.

Thirty to 40 minutes later, the camera showed them driving past in the pickup, Sills said. "There's an infinite number of people that may well be helping them outside", Sills said. "We can not replace them". Department of Corrections Commissioner Greg Dozier wouldn't comment on that part of the investigation either. Sills said Dubose also has "ghost" tattooed on his right forefinger and "face" on his right pinky finger — signs of membership in the Ghost Face Gangsters.

The prison bus was equipped with security video and had 31 other inmates in its cage, Sills said.

They were caught in Tennessee following a auto chase, officials said.

Since Tuesday, law enforcement officials said they'd tracked Dubose and Rowe to a rural home, which they broke into while the owners were away. "They would do a crime and it would escalate".

Dubose, 24, had been serving a 20-year sentence for armed robbery and assault. Monica had been with the Georgia Department of Corrections since October 2009 and Billue since July 2007. Rowe has been in prison since 2002 with convictions including armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a crime and aggravated assault.

The two men were cellmates and friends in prison and may have planned their escape; however, the bus ride Tuesday morning was unscheduled, officials said. Both were convicted of armed robbery and other violent crimes, and they've been cellmates a couple of times in Georgia's prisons. Bailey said everyone is holding their breath until the two are caught.
