Bill Cosby Accuser to Resume Testimony in Sex Assault Trial

Bill Cosby Accuser to Resume Testimony in Sex Assault Trial”

"I wasn't able to fight in any way". "I wanted it to stop", she said. She says he drugged her - leaving her nearly paralyzed - and then molested her.Cosby, once beloved by American audiences as the dad in the long-running TV hit "The Cosby Show" is not charged in the Johnson incident.

Bill Cosby's lawyers are seizing on inconsistencies in his chief accuser's recollections of their relationship and the night she says he drugged and violated her more than a decade ago at his suburban Philadelphia home.

During one exchange, Agrusa suggested that Constand once enjoyed a romantic dinner at Cosby's home before the alleged assault.

After they took effect she became aware that Mr Cosby's hands were on her body but could not move, she told the entertainer's sexual assault trial in Pennsylvania today. "I felt really humiliated and I was really confused".

Cosby whispered to his lawyers and shook his head during her testimony.

Tuesday marked the first time Constand had faced each other in court since 2005, when she was given a financial settlement after she filed a civil suit against Cosby. On a prior occasion, at the Foxwoods Casino Hotel, Constand admitted that she laid on a bed with Cosby.

The case was eventually forwarded to investigators there, but Cosby wasn't charged until a new prosecutor reopened the case in 2015. Constand said the calls to her university-issued cellphone pertained to Temple women's basketball, and stopped once she left the school.

"They were good friends". She woke to him fondly her breasts and penetrating her with his fingers, she testified.

"He was a Temple friend, somebody I trusted". She testified she let Cosby know she wasn't interested in his advances. He also placed her hands on his genitals. In my head, I was trying to get my hands to move and my legs to move but I was frozen.

Constand first told her story to Detective David Mason, of the Durham Regional Police near Toronto, when he interviewed her in her Canada home in January 2005.

Instead of telling her, she said he responded, "I thought you had an orgasm, didn't you?"

The massage therapist said that she could not move for the next 20-30 minutes.

Constand replied: "No, I never got a hold of my phone records". The district attorney at the time reportedly declined to do so, citing a lack of evidence. "So I just went along with them". Prosecutors hope Ms Johnson's testimony will signal to jurors that Cosby had done it before, but his defence has attacked her credibility given discrepancies in her accounts of the encounter.

"I was mistaken", Constand said, referring to the type of meal they had.

Cosby does not plan to testify, meaning the trial's outcome will likely hinge on whether jurors believe Constand's testimony.

Constand said that, after she took the pills, Cosby led her to the couch and she lost consciousness.

"I felt that if I had gone to police, Mr. Cosby would retaliate and try to hurt me, that he would try to hurt me and my family in some way", Constand said.

"So once you got ahold of your phone records and realized you could not have been passed out and unconscious, you changed your story", Agrusa asked.
