Blizzard Teases New Lore Surrounding Overwatch's Enigmatic Doomfistā€¯

Though with the recent release of the Horizon Lunar Colony map and the references to another new character named Hammond.

In a blog post Tuesday, Blizzard revealed more details about the ever elusive Doomfist in the form of a news report from the game's universe. The post talks at length about the Talon Organization's attack on Helix Security International's maximum security prison in an effort to free a single prisoner, "Akande Ogundimu, better known as Doomfist". "Information and details of what happened were scarce as has been any news from the installation, said to be a prison for the world's most risky threats". Video surveillance then picked up a black shadow figure overcoming the prison guards and leaving over a dozen dead. As Gamespot speculates, this could be Reaper. Revealing his true identity as Akande Ogundimu, the statement explains how Doomfist was broken out of custody by the nefarious Talon organisation, who are associated with assassins Reaper and Widowmaker, among other reprobates.

We first heard about Doomfist way back in the introductory cinematic trailer for the game.

The previous in-game tie in with Doomfist was the destruction inside Numbani Airport, where players could see the OR15 defense robots completely destroyed. In a faux news article from the Times of Numbani, Blizzard has all but confirmed that we'll be seeing Doomfist in Overwatch sooner than expected.

Overwatch hero Doomfist teased in shock new info, could he arrive next month?

If you've followed Overwatch at all, you've probably heard the name Doomfist.

During the Orisa announcement, there were a number of changes made to the Blizzard game's lore, revealing that the Overwatch Doomfist gauntlet had been stolen. The Times of Numbani report expressly mentions that "Helix officials have been unwilling to reveal whether or not there were additional escapees or items taken from the facility, but sources have indicated that it is likely that there were further security breaches in addition to Ogundimu". In official Overwatch canon the Doomfist moniker has been carried by three people; the first was referred to as "The Savior", the second "The Scourge", and third "The Successor".

Terry Crews has always been rumored to be taking the role of Doomfist, with his good buddy Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson campaigning for him.

If Doomfist is a playable character, he will be the 25th hero, the fourth since the game's release.

The second heist, features thieves Bats ( Jamie Foxx ), Eddie (Flea) and JD (Lanny Joon), holding up an armored auto . I can't say that I've ever seen a film where the soundtrack is so intrinsically linked to the drama.
