Air Canada plane nearly landed on taxiway instead of runway at SFO”

Passengers of an Air Canada flight and four other airplanes waiting to take off had a very close shave when the Air Canada flight nearly landed on the four passenger airplanes waiting to take off on July 7th at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in San Francisco, California.

An Air Canada flight found itself seconds from disaster, after mistakenly lining up to land on a taxiway occupied by four jets, rather than the runway.

According to the FAA, an air traffic controller helped prevent the incident by telling the Air Canada pilots to pull of a "go-around" where they pull-up before landing and circle around to land again.

An Air Canada Airbus 320 had a "near-miss" with four fully-loaded passenger plans at San Francisco Airport last week.

An Air Canada pilot was descending and about to land, when the pilot realized it almost landed on the taxiway instead of the runway. "He's on the taxiway", that pilot says.

"United One, Air Canada just flew directly over us", one pilot can be heard saying in the Live ATC audio.

An Air Canada spokesman told Fox News that the flight landed without incident a little later and that the airline is investigating the incident.

Air Canada did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Her lawyer Rodolphe Bosselut confirmed on Friday afternoon, with several National front politicians also under investigation. Le Pen has consistently denied the allegations against herself, saying that they were the work of her political opponents.

"Air Canada, go around", the traffic control responds.

'Canada 759, confirmed to land on runway 28-Right, there is no one on 28-Right but you'.

Recommendations made in the wake of such incidents have helped improve safety procedures, Wiszniowski said.

They ended up landing the aircraft safely.

"If you could imagine an Airbus colliding with four passenger aircraft wide bodies, full of fuel and passengers, then you can imagine how horrific this could have been", he said.

'This is pretty huge, ' he said. The taxiway sits parallel to the runway.

An exchange recorded by the website provided some details on the incident involving the Air Canada flight.

An investigation later revealed that the plane had been involved in a collision at an airport seven years earlier and not repaired to Boeing standard, leaving its bulkhead compromised and liable to rupture.
