Hastert Leaves Federal Prison In Minnesota, Back In Chicago

Hastert Leaves Federal Prison In Minnesota, Back In Chicago”

His official release date had been scheduled for August 16.

Prison officials confirmed Tuesday he was released the day before.

The Rochester Minnesota Federal Medical Center where Dennis Hastert was being held tells FOX News that he was released Monday and now on home confinement here in IL. "Nothing is more stunning than to have the words "serial child molester" and "speaker of the House" in the same sentence".

"They got him on what they could", he said.

Hastert pleaded guilty previous year to violating money laundering laws in a case that shocked the country and Beltway insiders. His portrait was removed from the U.S. Capitol, and his name has been removed from buildings that once displayed it with honor.

Hastert started his sentence at a Minnesota prison hospital last June.

Kashmir shuts down on Burhan Wani death anniversary
Indian troops have sealed all roads leading to Wani's hometown in Tral area of south Kashmir to prevent people from going there. The police fired tear gas canisters when protesters threw rocks at them - an increasingly common tactic in the region.

But the case was overshadowed by Hastert's crimes against young athletes, years after the statute of limitations had expired.

He is one of the highest-ranking USA politicians to ever go to prison, where he was known as Inmate No. 47991-424.

The 75-year-old man pleaded guilty to violating federal banking law in seeking to pay $3.5 million in hush money to keep the sex abuse secret. Hastert almost died from a blood infection and had a stroke after he pleaded guilty on October 28, 2015.

Despite admitting to sexually abusing boys while working as a teacher and coach at an IL high school, he was never charged for any sexual crimes because the state's prior statute of limitations law barred prosecution.

Records show Hastert has been released from a Minnesota federal prison and transferred to a Chicago re-entry facility. The victims, prosecutors said, were boys between 14 and 17. At least four other students involved in the wrestling program, including an equipment manager who is deceased, alleged at some point their coach sexually abused them in the 1960s and 1970s. A visibly angry judge repeatedly rebuked the former Republican speaker before issuing the sentence, telling him his abuse devastated the lives of victims.
