Milan police arrest man in kidnapping of British model

Milan police arrest man in kidnapping of British model”

A man has been jailed after a British model was attacked in Italy and taken to a remote farmhouse in a suitcase, where she was detained for six days while her captors tried to auction her off online, Italian police have said.

Milan police said the man, who holds British residence, was arrested on a charge of suspected kidnapping for extortion purposes.

Based on court documents, Corriere della Sera reported the woman was drugged by her abductor and held in a small town in the northwestern Piedmont region of Italy.

Officers seized Herba, who is believed to live in the West Midlands, near the British Consulate on July 17 as he was accompanying the model there and said he confessed to the crime.

Detectives are unclear as to whether Herba was serious about auctioning his victim or if it was simply a threat meant to extort 300,000 euros in Bitcoin from the model's agent and family.

The 20-year-old woman was attacked on July 11 by two men as she attended an arranged photo shoot.

When a petrol vehicle ban is not a real petrol vehicle ban
Electrified vehicles of all kinds now make up only about 3% of all cars sold worldwide, according to data from IHS Markit. The share of cars powered by electric, hybrid and alternative fuels in France is small - about 4% - but growing fast.

The woman was then kept handcuffed to a wooden chest of drawers in a bedroom for six days until she was released.

The 20-year-old woman had been lured to Milan by the promise of a modelling shoot, after the alleged kidnappers had contacted her agent to book her.

Police said no one took part in auction and it was unclear if Herba was serious about the plan or whether he was a "fantasist".

It has been reported that the captor demanded £50,000 upon the woman's release and threatened to kill her if she told police about the incident.

They also alleged Herba had dealings in "chemicals and poisons" as he faced a pre-trial hearing before magistrate Anna Magelli in Milan on Friday.

Officers went through Herba's phone and computer and said they found photos of the woman and material stating she was for sale, while hair from both the model and Herba was found in the boot of his auto.
