Chinese Tourists Arrested In Berlin For Nazi Salute At Reichstag”

German police on Saturday arrested the two tourists for making illegal "Heil Hitler" salutes in front of the historic Reichstag building that houses the parliament.

The salute related to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis is a symbol of hate speech in Germany.

Hitler ruled Germany from 1933 until his death in 1945, and German criminal code outlawed the salute after World War II.

The two men aged 36 and 49, were spotted posing in the Nazi-era salutes and taking pictures of each other on their mobile phones.

"2 Chinese guys were arrested in Berlin for making nazi salutes", the "Chelsea" host said.

When a petrol vehicle ban is not a real petrol vehicle ban
Electrified vehicles of all kinds now make up only about 3% of all cars sold worldwide, according to data from IHS Markit. The share of cars powered by electric, hybrid and alternative fuels in France is small - about 4% - but growing fast.

Zhou Anping, counselor of the Consulate Division of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, told Xinhua that each of the two tourists have been fined for 500 euros and were released by the police.

Symbols associated with Nazism are illegal in Germany, and individuals convicted of violating the government's ban on using "symbols of unconstitutional organizations" risk up to three years behind bars under German law.

It is unclear if the tourists are still in Berlin or have already left Germany, according to a police spokeswoman speaking to The New York Times.

"Shame on them!" said another Weibo user "renzidaoguolainianya".

The charges that the tourists face were usually used to prosecute right wing hardliners. In 2013, China adopted a "tourism law" that required Chinese tourists travelling overseas to respect local customs.
