Electric Cooperative: Convoy of Trucks Headed to SC to Help Restore Power”

Hurricane Irma was a historic storm and utilities are coordinating a historic response.

The organization's release says line crews from any USA electric cooperative can join the effort because the network of transmission and distribution infrastructure owned by cooperatives is built to federal standards.

"It is a huge commitment for these guys to be leaving their wives and children", he said.

While Tallahassee electric crews are now in a holding pattern, they are expected to try to go back out and restore power to residents later today.
