Angelina Jolie turns real life spy by helping capture warlord

Angelina Jolie turns real life spy by helping capture warlord”

Kony is wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal and is suspected of abducting thousands of children and turning them into fighters and sex slaves, the BBC said.

Luis Moreno Ocampo, the court's chief prosecutor, had hoped to embed the actress and possibly her estranged husband Brad Pitt with some USA special forces close to what they believed was a Kony stronghold where hundreds of children had been taken, the Times reported.

In 2012, Angelina Jolie was supposed to be part of a plan to arrest rebel leader Joseph Kony. She had gone to the ICC at The Hague, Netherlands to watch him prosecute Thomas Lubanga of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the first person to ever be convicted by the court. The attorney general had a number of discussions directly with the actress: "Apparently you can go on with the special forces who have been hunting Kony". Moreno Ocampo wrote. "Brad is being supportive". "Can Brad [Pitt] go with you?" "Let's discuss logistics", Jolie replied.

Mmhm. According to leaked International Criminal Court emails and documents, the Academy Award victor volunteered to be a central part of a 2012 plot to lure war lord Kony into arrest.

Ocampo may have actually considered Jolie's idea, for he was found to have stated in a separate e-mail: "Forget other celebrities, she is the one. I miss you." It went unanswered.

Moreno Ocampo later added: 'It will be great to spend more time with the American troops.

Air France flight with engine damage makes emergency landing in Canada
Air France said it is now working to re-route passengers to Los Angeles via the airline's connecting platforms in North America. The plane was about an hour off the coast of Canada when the incident occurred, Miguel Amador, a passenger on the flight, said.

It's safe to say that Jolie and Ocampo's plan never came to anything, because Kony is still at large.

Neither the ICC nor Jolie's reps responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

According to the report, Jolie was not the only Hollywood star Ocampo tried recruit to take part in his investigations, and he attempted to persuade George Clooney to get involved in a plot to fly spy satellites over Libya, and Sean Penn to take part in an investigation into the Palestinian conflict.

"I don't think I know anybody who doesn't hate Jospeh Kony", Jolie told The Telegraph in 2012.

"Someone is attempting to blackmail me using illegally obtained information", Ocampo said in a statement to The Financial Times.
