India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI: Match Updates”

In a shocking revelation, Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium pitch curator Pandurang Salgaonkar has been caught on the camera allowing India Today reporters, disguised as bookies, to tamper with the wicket ahead of India vs New Zealand second ODI. Former domestic fast bowler and Maharashtra Ranji Trophy selector Pandurang Salgaonkar, in the sting operation conducted by the news channel, can be seen and heard allowing the reporters access to the Pune pitch, which is a violation of the laws as set by cricket's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC).

It added it had "zero tolerance towards any such activity". BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary has chose to suspend the curator following his exploits, "Pandurang Salgaonkar has been suspended from the Maharashtra Cricket Association's curator's post with immediate effect", BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary told PTI. Incidentally, earlier this year in February, the pitch in question was rated "poor" by ICC match referee Chris Board after the first Test between India and Australia. "I am not yet aware of the full thing", BCCI Acting Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary was quoted as saying.

Salgaoncar was suspended with immediate effect soon after the news broke out. The MCA has also suspended Salgaoncar from all other positions in the association. Pitch condition is good and there is more chance to score more runs as the boundaries are short. The pitch curator told them the reporters that the pitch could be customised as per their demands.

Trump embraces poll showing distrust of media
A new report by Politico states that almost half of the American people believe Twitter fabricates stories about President Trump. Recent comments on the subject include his Tuesday tweet , "So much Fake News being put in dying magazines and newspapers".

An inquiry has been initiated by the MCA and the BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit has been asked to submit a report of the incident. "The BCCI observer is also sitting around", Salgaoncar said.

The second ODI between India and New Zealand at MCA Stadium in Pune is less than an hour away from now, but it has already been shrouded with controversy.
