Apple reportedly readying two new iPhones with OLED screens for 2018

Apple reportedly readying two new iPhones with OLED screens for 2018”

Production problems and supply constraints with its OLED panels mean they'll be limited to the iPhone through 2018. While it's highly plausible that Face ID will be available in the future iPhones, a new media report claims the feature could also debut on Apple's next-generation iPad. Apple took a big step forwards with the introduction of the 10-5-inch iPad Pro previous year, and it paid off, as iPad sales were up 14% in Apple's last set of earnings.

Of course, with the Apple iPhone X getting such a huge design upgrade, we were expecting to see the same happen to the Apple iPad as well. The updated model will reportedly ditch the home button in favor of the facial recognition tech.

Apple has invested somewhat heavily in Touch ID, the company's fingerprint sensor; it's used on the iPad and the MacBook Pro.

Apple is no doubt hoping the changes will reignite iPad sales, which have lagged in recent years amid a glut of tablets from competitors in the marketplace.

Over the last several days, I've been using Apple's iPhone X and interacting with its Face ID multiple times an hour. This is why Apple is looking for ways to make the product popular again.

Apple Pay Cash, the new payments feature introduced and demonstrated by Apple during the WWDC 2017 conference earlier this year, has finally started reaching users. The company nearly never comments on unannounced products and rumours. If the upcoming new iPad model turns out to be as impressive as the iPhone X, it is very likely that the iPad sales will start growing again, resulting in higher revenues.

In related news, Apple is also already working on an improved Apple Pencil.

The new iPad could be available as early as next year, with all these newly fitted features.

The iPad for 2018 should have a 10.5-inch screen size and do away with Touch ID in favour of the new Face ID security system.
