Trump finally responds to Roy Moore allegations: "He totally denies it"

Trump finally responds to Roy Moore allegations:

President Trump finally broke his silence on embattled Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore Tuesday, telling reporters that Moore denies the sexual misconduct allegations and "you have to listen to him also".

Doug Jones, the Democratic opponent of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, released an ad using top Republicans' statements against Moore.

Trump criticized Moore's opponent, Democrat Doug Jones, as being "terrible on crime, awful on borders".

Trump's defense of Moore stands in stark contrast to the approach taken by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and a number of other Republican senators, who have said that they can not support Moore's candidacy and that he should withdraw from the race. "And, by the way, he totally denies it", Trump said. Several other women have accused Moore of assault.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has said Trump found the allegations against Moore "very troubling", but believed Alabama voters should decide Moore's fate.

But what he said is only likely to add to his party's growing problems in the race.

"I'll be letting you know next week", he said, when asked whether he will campaign with Moore. Luther Strange (R-AL). Bannon endorsed and campaigned for Moore, who ended up thumping Strange.

'I would NEVER' call Rocket Man Kim Jong Un 'short and fat'
Also on the trip, Mr Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin several times on the margins of a summit in Vietnam. In the first of three successive tweets Sunday morning, Trump hit back at his critics.

But that's not what's impacting Trump's decision to maintain his support for Moore.

Trump said he did not want Jones to win.

Trump's own daughter offered up an unambiguous rebuke to Moore last week.

"We don't need a liberal person in there, a Democrat, Jones". And I do have to say 40 years is a long time. The October 2016 release of the "Access Hollywood" tape revealed that Trump bragged in in 2005 that he could grope and forcibly kiss women without their consent.

Trump's comments are likely to complicate an already knotty situation for Republicans. "Nobody ever says his name, and they pretend that he's some kind of conservative Democrat in Alabama, and he's not". "He is bad for property owners". Republicans have a slim 52-48 majority in the Senate. Jeff Flake, who has been critical of Trump and is retiring in 2018, said Monday.

US Senate hopeful Roy Moore is accused of sexually inappropriate conduct with a string of teenage girls - including a 14-year-old - when he was in his 30s.
