Facebook's Snooze lets you unfollow someone for 30 days

Facebook's Snooze lets you unfollow someone for 30 days”

Facebook Inc. launched a Snooze feature today that lets users hide annoying friends and pages from their news feed for 30 days.

As mentioned earlier, you can temporarily mute your friends on Facebook.

If you're exhausted of putting up with a particular person, group or page for a while, just click the menu in the upper right-hand corner of their latest post and click "Snooze" and you won't see anything from them for 30 days.

The option will be available through the top-right dropdown menu on every post.

While Facebook's blog post focused on muting individuals, it's notable that the feature is being extended to pages and groups as well.

Chiefs lose fourth straight, falling 38-31 to New York Jets
The Chiefs generally script those plays well before kickoff; they are not selected in the moment. Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 21-yard field goal to put the Jets (5-7) ahead with 3:55 left.

Hoorah! See you in thirty days.

People often tell us they want more say over what they see in News Feed.

Are you sick of seeing photos from your friend's beach vacation while you're stuck in the grey skies and snow of Pittsburgh? The good thing is that the people you muted will not know that you "snoozed" them. "Snoozing" can be reversed at any time, as well as restarted.

The new feature can serve as a way to dial down the content you don't want to see, without having to fully unfollow or unfriend someone. Facebook writes, "We've made several changes to News Feed to provide more opportunities for meaningful interactions and reduce passive consumption of low-quality content - even if it decreases some of our engagement metrics in the short term".
