SpaceX set to launch secret Zuma mission

SpaceX set to launch secret Zuma mission”

SpaceX has launched a secret satellite codenamed Zuma on its first flight of the new year. The unmanned Falcon rocket blasted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying the satellite toward an undisclosed orbit.

It's SpaceX's third classified launch for the USA government, this one taking place under a deal with defense contractor Northrop Grumman.

SpaceX has confirmed they will be attempting to launch a Falcon 9 rocket with the Zuma spacecraft aboard on Sunday.

The Falcon 9 lifted off with the USA government's top secret Zuma payload, and its first stage returned to Cape Canaveral for landing around eight minutes later. The rocket's first stage has also landed 12 times on droneships in the ocean as SpaceX pushed to lower launch costs with reusable rockets.

Senate candidate Roy Moore's wife has identified the "Jewish" attorney she referred to at a campaign rally. The neighbor didn't know what he was talking about, she said, because flames weren't visible at the time.

Northrop Grumman provided the satellite, but wouldn't say for which government agency.

Last year, SpaceX carried out 18 successful launches, the highest in any calendar year. It's aiming for more this year.

SpaceX now can look forward to its next major test for the year - launching its huge heavy-duty rocket for the first time ever.
