Dickerson Set to Replace Rose on 'CBS This Morning'”

CBS News anchor John Dickerson has been named co-host of "CBS This Morning", replacing Charlie Rose, who was sacked amid allegations of sexual misconduct. Hill was later replaced by Norah O'Donnell, and now Dickerson will replace Rose, making King the only original host. "He's the flawless complement to Gayle and Norah".

United States television channel CBS announced today that its shamed millionaire news anchor, sacked for alleged sexual harassment, had been replaced by another man after its higher-rated rival appointed a woman. Dickerson is relocating to NY for his new job. "Can't think of better way to celebrate and kick off our next chapter", King said.

Ryan Kadro, who produces the newsy morning show, called Dickerson "the ideal complement to Gayle and Norah". "I've worked alongside John for nearly 20 years, and this is a great way to continue our mission of putting the news back in the morning".

Activist Erica Garner dies in Brooklyn
Garner's oldest daughter, Erica, became a prominent activist and outspoken critic of police misconduct after her father's death. Erica Garner suffered a heart attack and had been hospitalized since the day before Christmas Eve.

Dickerson, who has anchored the CBS Sunday political show "Face the Nation" since 2015 and moderated two 2016 presidential debates, will start his new job on Wednesday, the network said in a statement.

Variety and Deadline also report that Dickerson is expected to be named to the Sunday news program, though CBS News has yet to issue an official statement.

The journalist John Dickerson is a Washington creature to his core: a presidential historian, repository of political trivia, and scion of a glamorous Kalorama family whose party guests regularly included Kennedys, Johnsons and Reagans. Months after Rose's departure from the network, CBS News also fired former political director Steve Chaggaris from the network. Before Slate, Dickerson covered politics for 12 years for Time magazine. While "CBS This Morning" trails rivals "Today" and "Good Morning America" on NBC and ABC, respectively, in viewership, it has made significant ratings strides for CBS with a mix of hard-news focus and serious discussion about the headlines of the day. But with "CBS This Morning", the network is in a better competitive position against "Today" and "GMA" than ever before.
