PUBG PC Update 6 Detailed, Ping-Based Matchmaking to Be Introduced

PUBG PC Update 6 Detailed, Ping-Based Matchmaking to Be Introduced”

PUBG Corp has stated that its focus has "shifted towards tightening our anti-cheat effort" despite major features and improvements suffering because of it.

The team also shares what we can expect with the next update. According to the developers, those "users with the lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking".

Other than that, the team has made a decision to improve the matchmaking system and make it "ping based" which is kind of logical if you ask me.

Apparently, this update was delated due to a great deal of the team's resources being "focused on cheat blocking and prevention". However, the latest news on that front did mention that most cheaters that have been banned are from China. That roadmap will cover the first half of 2018, which will "include a new map", alongside other "development and new content plans". They plan on new content and "extensive battle royale experiences" for "deeper and more realistic gameplay".

'Unlike the method considered earlier, we are going to divide the matching pool depending on ping.

Today's test patch brings more client optimisations and bug fixes. You'll no longer be able to see the inside of the aeroplane at the start of a match, for example, but can check the number of remaining passengers via a new counter on the UI.

PUBG Corp.is planning to test this matchmaking starting this week in certain regions, and then it will expand that depending on how those early trials go. "Specific dates will be shared when ready". This new reporting system comes with some restrictions: You can't use a replay file that is more than a week old, and you can't use the same file to report a player multiple times.

"PUBG is now introducing an experimental method that we hope will get even better results than the one we were considering before", reads the developer blog.
