Facebook Ends 'Explore Feed' Test that Showed Two Separate News Feeds”

The test, launched in six countries in October, involved separating users' feeds into two-one for posts from friends and family, and the other for news and other content.

A trial redesign of user's news feeds in Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Bolivia, Cambodia, Serbia and Slovakia has been halted after strong criticism. Explore has already been partially superseded by newer alterations to the News Feed.

Going forward, Facebook also plans to revise its practice of trying new features and designs in select markets.

Facebook has chose to drop its controversial second news feed, after negative feedback from users in countries where it was trialed.

Facebook's recent algorithm change seems to have claimed its first high-profile victim. Others don't and we drop them.

Sridevi dies of heart attack in Dubai
She was awarded India's fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, in 2013, for her services to Indian cinema. She is survived by husband Boney Kapoor , and daughters Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor.

The results are in and Facebook says they're not favorable.

U.S. digital publisher Little Things became the first major casualty of the algorithm change this week, after a "catastrophic" and sudden drop in organic and influencer traffic of more than 75 per cent. While it was initially presented as a way to discover new content, the firm has disvoered that it isn't "effective". "Some of these changes - like Reactions, Live Video, and GIFs - work well and go on to become globally available", explained Facebook's head of news feed, Adam Mosseri (yes that's his actual title) in a blog post. "My explore feed looks quite normal, but a few people told me that they see distinct content here - old jokes, alt-right pages, posts by non-standard politicians", Slovakian journalist Filip Struhárik told The Guardian. "We're acting on this feedback by updating the way we evaluate where to test new products, and how we communicate about them".

In a more general update to all Facebook users earlier this year, the priorities of the News Feed were changed to focus on posts from friends the site thought users may wish to interact with, at the expense of public or promoted content.

Facebook is testing a new feature that automatically uses information from Page posts to create events, making the process of ... It also says users complained it was harder to access important information and that Facebook didn't clearly communicate the fact that it was a test.
