US President Donald Trump is not at the White House - he's in Florida, but is set to return later Saturday.

Secret Service spokeswoman Cathy Milhoan said the incident occurred on the north fence line, the victim suffered a single gunshot wound and Secret Service personnel did not fire any shots.

Medical personnel tended to the victim after the shooting, reports said.

There were no other injuries, police said.

No shots were fired by the Secret Service, and a firearm was recovered at the scene, the source said.

Compensatory picks are positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost. The NFL released its compensation picks for the 2018 NFL draft , and as expected the Patriots got one.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of kin, the Secret Service said in a statement. "The president has been briefed".

Reporters in the White House briefing room first tweeted about the shooting, saying they had been told to shelter in place.

The security scare came a little more than a week after a vehicle hit a security barrier near the White House, resulting in the arrest and charge of a 35-year-old driver.
