Miley Cyrus sued for allegedly stealing

Miley Cyrus has been slapped with a multi-million dollar lawsuit from a Jamaican reggae singer who claims the pop star ripped off his signature track in her smash hit single "We Can't Stop".

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Michael May (aka Flourgon) sued the singer in federal court in NY.

"We Run Things" - which hit No. 1 in Jamaica - includes the repeated line, "We run things".

Now: "We Run Things", which is a great song, sounds absolutely nothing like "We Can't Stop", which is not.

May has accused Miley and her team of misappropriating his material, most notably his lyric "We run things". His song contains the lyrics "We run things / Things no run we" and Cyrus' song contains the lyrics "And we can't stop / We run things, things don't run we / Don't take nothing from nobody".

Singer Miley Cyrus performs during the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year show honoring Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York, U.S., January 26, 2018.

He is suing Miley and Sony to block further distribution, sales, and performances of the song, as well as seeking the massive payout.

The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Representatives for Cyrus, 25, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Cyrus "dramatically changed her style of dress and personal vocalizations to reflect the grittiness, aggression and sultriness associated with US-based hip-hop, R&B, urban and Caribbean music", the lawsuit said.
