Del Potro ends Federer's winning run at Indian Wells Masters”

Fans will be hoping for a repeat of Sunday's Indian Wells final which saw Del Potro end Federer's 17-match winning streak to lift the Masters 1000 event.

Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Roger Federer to win the Indian Wells title, while unseeded Naomi Osaka defeated Daria Kastkina to emerge victor in the women's category.

Del Potro saved three match points in the deciding set in Indian Wells as the Swiss great failed to serve out for his 18th consecutive win at the start of 2018. Instead, it was Del Potro who triumphed, pulling off the upset in three sets by a 6-4 6-7 7-6 result.

It was Del Potro's seventh victory over Federer in 25 career meetings, one of those wins coming in the 2009 US Open final.

Beating Federer has never been easy - del Potro had succeeded just six times in 24 previous attempts - and the nail-biting final lasted nearly three hours with both players taking occasional issue with the chair umpire.

In addition to their championship titles, del Potro and Osaka claimed stunning Baccarat Trophies and checks for $1.4 million. Margin = +45 points 5-9 Shots = 152 won / 130 lost.

Surprisingly, the Argentine totally dominated the final tie-break, and afterwards a frustrated Federer admitted he had no idea what went wrong.

He has regained form over the last two seasons but, although he entered the final on a 10-match winning streak after clinching victory in Acapulco for his 21st singles crown last month, he was still the underdog against Federer.

Marco Rubio of Florida, who is a co-sponsor of the Senate bill, told reporters. Mauser came to Washington with two pairs of his son's size 10.5 shoes.

"I am excited to see what is next", he said. But ultimately del Potro pulled off the victor, defeating the tennis legend in three sets, 7-5, 6-7 (8), 7-6 (2).

Federer does not have long to cool down, however, as he is set to compete in the Miami Open, which starts Monday.

"I'm happy for Juan Marti ... it was a great match, honestly", Federer said.

"I don't know. Having Juan Martin come in and having to hit something past me that's very uncomfortable for him, and you pick the wrong side and you're like, Why am I picking the wrong side?" Had Federer been more clinical in those moments he might have finished his opponent.

The stars are finally starting to align for Juan Martin Del Potro who will be seeking his third straight ATP title at the Miami Masters this week. In the beginning of the year, I just wanted to play every match really well.

"I lost my serve a little bit, and then he was clean and I wasn't". But thank God I'm here and healthy, and I'm playing tennis again.

Del Potro recovered to deuce with a forehand victor.

With the win, combined with injuries to Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, it is now looking like Del Potro is the biggest threat to Federer's rule over the ATP Tour. There was not much between us, but you deserved it.
