Donald Trump claims Robert Mueller probe is interfering with his presidential duties

Donald Trump claims Robert Mueller probe is interfering with his presidential duties”

Former White House counsel John Dean said Wednesday that President Donald Trump's tweets on the Russian Federation investigation could negate any of his claims of executive privilege should he be subpoenaed by special counsel Robert Mueller.

The Washington Post reported that in one meeting with Mueller, the president's lawyers insisted Trump had no obligation to talk.

Cobb notified White House Chief of Staff John Kelly last week that he would retire at the end of this month, Sanders said, describing Cobb as "a friend of the president who has done a terrific job".

Flood will soon work alongside a remade group of personal lawyers - including another hire expected in the coming weeks - as they devise a new strategy to deal with Mueller's team, according to White House advisers.

Ty Cobb, the White House lawyer handling requests from Mueller, has a security clearance, but he's stepping down at the end of this month, and as his role is to represent the office of the presidency, not Trump personally, he hasn't been directly involved in discussions with Mueller about an interview.

President Trump just got a peek at nearly 50 questions he'll be asked in an even more serious setting, and all anyone can talk about is who may have leaked them. That could come into play as Trump's legal team continues to negotiate a possible interview of the president by Mueller, whose team has said it could resort to a subpoena for Trump to appear before a grand jury.

Whether he can be subpoenaed is unclear.

"But [Rosenstein] also, according to published reports, committed to congressional Democrats that Mueller would have carte blanche to take the investigation wherever Mueller decided the facts went", McCarthy said.

"The appointment was not in compliance with Justice Department regulations for appointing a special counsel because you're supposed to have a basis for a criminal investigation, which they didn't", McCarthy explained.

Even if Mueller's team made a decision to subpoena Trump as part of the investigation, the president could still fight it in court or refuse to answer questions by invoking his Fifth Amendment protection from self-incrimination.

Ben Carson Proposal Would Triple Rent for Poorest Households
Elderly and disabled families would be exempt from the changes and would pay rent according to the previous structure. These changes are still in the proposal phase, Congress would have to approve the plan for it to take effect.

While this is the first confirmation of such a warning, I have no doubt that Trump's lawyers have been aware of Mueller's ability to get a subpoena. Trump's lawyers met with prosecutors in early March.

There is evidence too that these unsavory sources, again including banks such as Deutsche Bank, have laundered money through Trump properties, including properties in the U.S. There are no questions on the list that address these issues. Trump on Tuesday in response to Mueller's negotiations with the legal team was "leaked" to the news media. Mueller isn't going to give Trump a pass. Trump could easily be caught lying, or reveal new information damaging to himself.

Alternatively, Trump's team might have let the list out to shake up their own client, impressing upon him the seriousness of the inquiry and the need to delay as long as possible a Q&A with Mueller.

In his place, Trump tapped Republican defense attorney Emmet Flood, who brings experience wrangling with investigators when he represented President Bill Clinton during House proceedings to impeach him.

From the start, Trump's legal team has been out-manned by Mueller's.

The lawmakers also asked DOJ to turn over documents on investigation of allegations of collusion between officials with Trump's 2016 campaign and individuals with links to the Russian government in an effort to defeat Clinton. Trump's allies in Congress, led by House Speaker Paul Ryan, say they've received assurances from the White House that Mueller's dismissal is not in the offing. Why so much redacting?

Trump adds: "At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!" "No questions on Collusion", Trump wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

Several Republican House committee chairmen have recently negotiated deals with the Justice Department to turn over documents related to Russian Federation investigations into Trump and also the 2016 investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton's emails. "Why such unequal 'justice?'" Trump tweeted Wednesday.

"You'd have to go through hoops at the Justice Department for permission to serve (a subpoena to), say, a journalist", he explained in an interview with WND and Radio America.
