Riders stuck upside-down on roller coaster for two hours”

Recently, a video went on YouTube after it surfaced on Japanese social media, wherein one can see how people got stuck when a roller coaster at Universal Studios in Japan suddenly stopped mid-ride.

Some 64 visitors to the Osaka theme park were halted about 100ft above the ground on the ride's upward track, while the other carriage stopped shortly before reaching the launch terminal.

All of the riders were evacuated safely, with no injuries reported, according to a park spokesman.

The park apologised over the incident and said the problem was caused by a motor-regulating device on the rail. Despite the incident, many people lined up to ride the roller coaster as soon as operations resumed shortly after 7 p.m. One vehicle of Jurassic Park-themed "Flying Dinosaur" stopped during its upward climb whereas, the other stalled before reaching the terminal.

Royal Birth — What's Trending Wednesday
Meanwhile, official commemorative souvenirs marking the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby son have gone on sale. At this time , the name of the new royal baby has not been announced, but he will still have a mouthful of a title regardless.

But some visitors were apparently horrified by the incident.

A prior incident in September a year ago left more than 30 passengers stuck when the ride suddenly stopped. A 42-year-old woman from the city of Hiroshima, visiting with her three children, said, "It's scary to think (about) if we had been on board". "It's already a terrifying ride, so I want them to operate it safely".

Riders on a Universal Studios Japan roller coaster were stranded for hours "mid-flight" when the coaster malfunctioned.
