Intermittent issues nationally- Triple Zero calls, TAS”

The damage occurred in a cable pit east of Orange in central western NSW (about three hours west of Sydney), but had knock on effects across the state and the rest of the country.

"Significant fire damage consistent with lightning strike", Telstra News reported on Twitter. "Current impact mostly in NSW and some interruptions in VIC, SA and WA", Telstra said in the post.

Queensland Police said they were aware of emergency call issues in other parts of the country, but triple zero calls were still getting through in Queensland.

It's the second widespread network outage for Telstra within a week.

"I've asked the CEO of Telstra for further advice as to what has happened ... and what the mitigations can be", he told reporters on the Gold Coast on Friday. "The police have been able to rapidly ensure we have enough staff to handle those calls, and divert and dispatch calls for assistance to all the agencies".

They were bombed in Game 3 in Milwaukee and almost pulled off a big comeback that could have given them a 3-1 lead in the series. The Bucks went with the same starting five as Game 3 , with Zeller replacing Henson and Brogdon starting for Tony Snell.

The issue on Tuesday was caused by technical changes made ahead of upgrades to mobile traffic control equipment in Telstra's Exhibition Street exchange in Melbourne, the Telstra spokesman said.

South Australia is now receiving emergency calls without issue.

The fire causing the damage is believed to have been started by a lightning strike.

Earlier this morning Telstra confirmed there was a fault in their network and were working to fix it.
